Fox EOS 10000 Review (Best Mid-Range Reel)

Fox EOS 10000 Reel Review

Hello folks, and Today’s review are the awesome Fox EOS 10000 reels.

Packed with features, I own three of these myself – and I have to say they are excellent!

Although there are four sizes available (been 5000, 7000, 10000, and 12000), I feel this reel covers most carp angling situations.

Lets jump in to our EOS 10000 reel review!

I’ll begin with the internals!

With the rotor incredibly well balanced (in fact it’s actually computer balanced), meaning human error is taken out of the equation completely!

This ensures a longer lifespan so you can enjoy these reels over many years to come.

With a gear ratio of 5:5:1 (on the 10000 model), the line capacity is 0.33mm/320m and 0.35mm/260m and weighing in at a cool 558grams.

This gives great distribution throughout the retrieve, or when playing a fish.

We used Fox Exocet, which you read all about in our best fishing line guide!

A baitrunner that’s designed for those big carp hunters, balance vs. crank power is unrivalled.

You can pull in large amounts of line with each handle turn. so tackling aggressive specimens means there is only one winner here!

Sturdy and robust, the Fox EOS 10000 won’t let you down.

Fox EOS 10000 Video

Although released in the Summer of 2014, the FOX EOS 10000 has grown to become hugely popular.

In fact, the range is one of the biggest selling reels on offer by Fox at the time od writing!

Watch the video below to learn more about the awesome features of this popular carp reel!

Summary

Overall, this is a very hardworking but reliable carp reel that performs brilliantly bankside.

Cosmetically, it looks stunning with its sleek, all-black aluminium body and we recommend hooking these up to a pair of Horizon X5 rods for a really good setup to handle big carp fishing.

It comes with one spool, but you can purchase a reasonably priced Fox EOS 10000 spare spool from Amazon.

That’s a wrap! So thank you for checking out our Fox EOS 10000 review!

The Fox EOS range is a huge seller!

Its great for angling on larger fishing lakes, as the extra size is capable of casting huge distances!

For anglers perhaps requiring something bigger, we’ve an extensive big pit reel review guide!

Alternative Reel

Our pick of alternative reel has to be the Fox FX9!

Weighing 560g, ts packed full of rollers (the same as a sea fishing reel) which gives you a really smooth cast and retrieve that is almost silent.
