The Fox EOS 10000 is a superb mid-range carp reel that can be used as your main reel, or big pit style.
Although there are other sizes available, I have chosen to review the 10000 as I personally own three of them!
Feature packed, which I will go into more detail shortly, they not only look the part, but compliment many carp rods on the market.
I find they offer really good line lay, offer very little tangles of the cast, and run smooth on the retrieve, even when a igcarp has been snared!
Let’s jump straight in….
- Eos 10000
- 5 stainless steel ball bearings
- Balanced rotor
- Gear ratio: 5.5:1
- Weight: 558gr
I’ll begin with the internals!
With the rotor incredibly well balanced (in fact it’s actually computer balanced), meaning human error is taken out of the equation completely!
This ensures a longer lifespan so you can enjoy these industrious reels for many years to come.
With a gear ratio of 5:5:1 (on the 10000 model), the line capacity is 0.33mm/320m and 0.35mm/260m and weighing in at a cool 558grams.
This gives great distribution throughout the retrieve, or when playing a fish.
A baitrunner that’s designed for those big carp hunters, balance vs. crank power is unrivalled.
You can pull in large amounts of line with each handle turn. so tackling aggressive specimens means there is only one winner here!
Sturdy and robust, the Fox EOS 10000 won’t let you down.

Fox EOS 10000 Video
Although released in the Summer of 2014, the FOX EOS 10000 has grown to become hugely popular.
In fact, the range is one of the biggest selling reels on offer by Fox at the time od writing!
Watch the video below to learn more about the awesome features of this popular carp reel!
Summary
Overall, this is a very hardworking but reliable carp reel that performs brilliantly bankside.
Cosmetically, it looks stunning with its sleek, all-black aluminium body and we recommend hooking these up to a pair of Horizon X5 rods for a really good setup to handle big carp fishing.
It comes with one spool, but you can purchase a reasonably priced Fox EOS 10000 spare spool from Amazon.
That’s a wrap! So thank you for checking out our Fox EOS 10000 review!
